Rajasthan the Grandeur of the Maharajas
Rajasthan, a land whose sheer size and diversity, innumerous forts and palaces, scores of temples and colorful culture all woven into one gigantic quilt. This makes it an attracting tourist destination. Hearing about its charming mix of color and exotic aura, I planned for a short tour to Rajasthan. As soon as I landed in Rajasthan, I could experience the unconventional beauty and a vibrant presence.
The first place in my itinerary was Udaipur– also known as the City of Lakes. The City Palace is the major landmark here- a sprawling complex with an outstanding Rajput style architecture lined with huge courtyards and intricate carvings. The cultural marvel of the City is the Lake Palace in the middle of the Pichola Lake which was glorious. Next visit was to Jagmandir, a beautiful island palace. After touring Udaipur, I planned for Jaipur, the boisterous pink city with the stunning backdrops of forts and monuments.
City Palace located in the heart of the city caught my hold with its grand structure and a royal touch. For some leisure one can visit the gardens. Other Rajasthan attractions worth sightseeing are Jaigarh fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal and the famous Laxmi Narayan Temple. Next enchanting place was Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan. The cool climate and scenic landscapes are enough to capture one’s attention. Dilwara Jain temples are the most famous and beautifully carved temples here. Nakki Lake is a major attraction where one can enjoy a boat ride; one must also not miss Guru Shikhar, the highest point of Mount Abu.
Last day of my Rajasthan Tour included the Ajmer City – a perfect blend of religion, history and modernity. Dargah e Sharif is a must religious visit that depicts the mystifying Mughal Art. The exquisite Taragarh Fort marvels tourists with its grandiose. Other attractions are Adhai Din Ka Jhopda, Foy Sagar Lake and the famous Pushkar town. These historic destinations of Rajasthan served as a treat for Culture fetish. The varied landscapes, a great history, huge forts and palaces, Lakes makes you want to Travel the enchanting land of Rajasthan and get soaked in its culture.
